_It was
fiesta time in Makabalan, harbor area of Cagayan de Oro city.
Sometimes the fiesta organization will also hold a run and we
(members of the OroSundayRunnersClub) were willing and present
that early Thursday-morning to join up for a 10 km street run.
We went there at 5 AM with 8 runners using the pick-up truck of
our club-president Ricardo Fabe.
At the spot we met other Clubmembers and some 'Oro-Sundowner'
runners as well.
We were gathering together with only 20 runners

our transport with my bike and our driver to
Makabalan
_Supposedly we should start at 5.30? but
no one was there, only one guy showed us the start line from where
we did have a view on the bay.
At least the organizing committee was showing up and I asked them
to start as soon as possible because the traffic was much
increasing and also the temperature gets higher already.
At 6.45 we start and I knew already it would be bad: no arrows in
the road, no officials in the crossings to guide us a safe way, so
no idea where to go.

_We supposed to run 5 laps of 2 km. but
Ricardo and I were soon left behind from the fast starting
athletes and were not able to find the correct route, so we passed
(unexpected) before the fast runners the finish line and so on.
So I was the slowest but not the last person to finish in the end,
hehehe.
Because of the high humidity and the already higher temperature I
soon had to slow down, also because I was starting pretty (too)
fast, so I felt overheated in my last 1000 meter from no more then
seven kilometers!

Ricardo, Christopher, Efren, runner.

_So, fine, good, I run a shorter
distance, I didn't feel well and had to recover and cool down for
almost 20 minutes, sweating too much and it didn't stop for a long
time.
We were receiving a T-shirt as a reward and as a remembrance.
Our clubmember Patrick Gongob was able to win the race and he
invited us (from his reward) to have a late breakfast in the city.
Thank you Patrick!
